Sedimentation behind Conway Electric Dam, Western Massachusetts

Conway

The Conway Electric Reservoir is a historic dam that was built in 1899 to provide electricity to the town of Conway, Massachusetts. The dam is currently silted up, preserving a sediment record with identifiable flood deposits. We are looking at the sediment record to understand sedimentation yields and deposits of extreme weather events, including understanding the 2011 Tropical Storm Irene deposit in the area.
